Seeing as this is about people's opinions, and not about game rules or homebrew stuff, I figure this is the best thread for it.
Okay, having accumulated over a thousand points of Witch Hunters recently (apparently I hate having money or something, or maybe it's just retail therapy, and there aren't any new shoes I particularly like), it's at the point where I'm doing a bit of conversion and customisation.
My Canoness now has a cool scroll hanging from her backpack, and a cable connecting her... melta pistol? Hand flamer? to the brazier of fire on top of her backpack, to make it into the Brazier special weapon. I'll soon buy something with "angel wings" to give her.
Most of my SoBs will be getting better, longer, nicer hair. A few already have. I do this with Greenstuff.
Mostly I'm doing a shoddy job of converting Daemonettes (non-mounted) into Sisters Repentia, because the standard ones look a bit... ugly and stupid. I just get them to hold chainswords (salvaged from Space Marines, but I've run out, so one has a normal sword, and the others... I might actually need to buy more minis with chainswords/eviscerators just for the weapons) and file any extra breasts off (the Emperor decreed that breasts shall equal hands on a 1-for-1 basis).
When I paint them, I'll make the claws and stuff look like metallic attachments.
Now, I'm doing a custom retinue for the Inquisitor. See, I bought a Space Marine tactical squad while I thought they could be allied to Sisters. They can't. So I'm using them for conversions. We have three marines with special weapons to be "Veteran Guard", and one with a bolter to be an Inquisitor Trainee. I know the VG don't actually get Power Armour, but oh well. They look good, that's the main thing.
Oh, and the priest (which they don't sell any more) is a priest or something from Fantasy Battle, with a warhammer. It probably cost him about 40,000 credits.
Anyway, I could do with advice on the following:
1. Cheap units with chainswords. Anyone have suggestions?
2. I wish to make a Sister Hospitaler and a Familiar. What would people suggest I convert for these? I *could* take a standard SoB and give her packs painted up medi-style, or even chuck a rocket on and make it look like a syringe. But are there any other things that would look the part really well? As for familiars... not a clue. They're strange little robot things.

Don't know if you have access to the GW bits service where you are, but for weapons and the like its a bit cheaper than buying models just to hack a few things off.
If you can find them, the old Necromunda Redemptionist gang had a lot of chainswords/evisterators/flamers. Not sure how easy it was to get at the weapons on the models, however. Some are from the old school molds where the weapons and army are just raised from the body. Rather hard to cut off.
At least one of the Daemonhunter sets has the servo-skulls and I think the cherubim-style familiars. Take a poke around the GW website.

Yeah, either buy CC weapon sprues or buy the bitz individually; alternately check your local hobby store and check out their bitz box, if they have one.
